5 Verses Every Christian Should Know

The other night my brother-in-law called me with some Bible questions. He was having a discussion with a friend at his high-school. His friend has grown up in a Wesleyan church so the debate was about eternal security and whether one could lose their salvation.

We talked through some of the passages his friend brought up. His friend felt these verses gave inclination that one could lose their salvation. The conclusion was that the verses that were brought up were either contextually incorrect or were not speaking of salvation at all in the first place.

The point is that we as Christians need to be strong in our faith and what we believe. Not just for the sake of the others, but for our own sakes as well.

Whenever we have doubts about our salvation the best place to run is the Bible.

A challenge I've was given while in college was to memorize 5 verses about eternal security.

So here are 5 passages about how we can know for sure our salvation is eternal!

John 10:28 - And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.

I John 3:20 - For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.

Romans 8:1 - There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

I hope these verses can encourage you as a believer in Jesus Christ. One of the lies of the Devil is that we can lose our salvation. This fallacy can be a hurdle to any believer.

Jesus loves you, He died for you, He rose again, and He offers you an eternal salvation - one that will never end.

P.S.
Here are a few more verses about eternal security.

John 6:37
Ephesians 1:13&14
Ephesians 4:30
John 3:16

P.P.S.
If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior, you can!
