4 Resolutions To Grow Closer To Jesus In 2023
Every new year is a chance to grow closer to God and lead a more fulfilling Christian life. Here are some resolutions that we believe can help you make 2023 a year of spiritual growth:
The Ten Commandments: Why They Matter Today
When most people think of the Ten Commandments, they think of the list of laws given to Moses on Mount Sinai (we find this account in Exodus 20). These commandments are also known as The Law and they serve as a guide for how we should live our lives. Although these commandments were given specifically to the Jewish nation, they are still applicable to everyone today. In this blog post, we will take a closer look at each one of the Ten Commandments, their purpose, and see how they apply to us today.
Living In Hope
I know I have misunderstood the word "HOPE". To me, it meant something I'm wishing for, or something I think might happen. I would maybe say "I HOPE the Cubs win today." But did I really expect them to win? Not really!
This word HOPE is not a whim, a wish, or even a want.
HOPE is the absolute expectation that something will happen.
Worship
What comes to mind when you think of “worship”?
Does a crowd of people singing with their hands raised come to mind? Or maybe someone kneeling and praying?
But what does the Bible say about worship? This is the real question!
Cultures and traditions change, but as followers of Jesus, we should be seeking the way Jesus wants us to worship Him. So let’s look at the Scripture and see how it defines and explains worship.
Patience In Prayer
Patience is something we all struggle with. In a society of next day delivery, fast food, order ahead, fiber internet, and self-checkout, patience has become a quality less and less exercised. When we have a need, or a want we expect to get it right away. If we are not careful, a lack of patience can creep its way into our prayer life. Instead of spending time with our Saviour, we hurry through lists. Instead of waiting on the Lord, trusting in His timing, and seeking His Will above our own, we become discouraged and disappointed in prayer. As a result, less and less time is spent in prayer.
Time is Money
Most people waste a lot of time in a day. Time is one of our most valuable assets we have in life. You don’t have to waste your time. Make intentional changes to your day so that you live a life of meaning and purpose.
